Angie McEvoy has a sweet stage persona, but can anyone
be that nice? A laid-back style and sharp tongue have helped
Angie rise through the ranks quicker than most.
Angie, in an original, dry style, uses her personal
experiences to deliver a droll retort to an imperfect world.
Her sharp wit and relaxed manner makes her a favourite on the
circuit, and she is always asked back by clubs and their
audiences.
In August 2000, Angie was voted runner-up in the final of the
BBC New Comedy Awards in Edinburgh. The competition received 750
entries, and was televised on BBC One.
Angie performs regularly at The Comedy Store and Jongleurs, and
has performed in Amsterdam, Berlin and at the Belfast Comedy
Festival. She recently appeared at the Leicester Comedy
Festival, and last year was part of the Big Value Comedy Show at
the Edinburgh Festival.
