Danny James

Your Compere: July 8th, July 29th

Danny made his comedy debut in July 2001, by performing for 3 minutes in Clapham to an audience of 8. Today his smallest audiences exceed 100, and his shortest set is rarely less than 20 minutes.

Within his first year, Danny was a finalist in the Hackney Empire New Acts 2002 Competition, a Semi-Finalist in Channel 4's "So You Think You're Funny?" and a Semi Finalist in Amused Moose New Acts 2002.

2002 also saw Danny's debut in Edinburgh, with performances at several top venues, and a feature in Amused Moose's Hot Comedy Starlets.

Danny, for the most part, is recognised in the industry as a compere, being booked by top venues to MC some of the toughest gigs on the circuit. Danny has performed at all of the following venues and is booked regularly by most: The Comedy Store London & Manchester, Jongleurs Battersea/Camden/Bow/Watford, Headliners Chiswick, Ha Bloody Ha in Ealing, XSMalarkey Manchester, Frog & Bucket Manchester, The Buzz Club Manchester & Coventry, The Chuckle Club, GSOH Cranleigh. Wimbledon, Tonbridge, High Wycombe and Portsmouth, Mirth Control (most UK gigs), Several Uk Christian Knowles gigs, Amused Moose Soho, Bound & Gagged London, Banana Caberet London, Up The Creek London, Komedia Brighton and several others.

As a result of this, Danny was booked this year to host the Paramount Comedy Channel New Act Competition "Gift Of The Gag" (www.comedyisparamount.com) , following his succesful involvement in the CHannel 4 Series
"Experimental".

Danny also has writing and acting credits, having played a major role in the award winning Cannes Feature "Breathe Safely", several appearances in The Bill and two leading roles in Pantomime.

Danny has, in the last six months, been billed with such top names as Eddie Izzard, Harry Hill, Al Murray, Paul Tonkinson and Bill Bailey.
