Mark has just
returned from Edinburgh where he has claimed two prizes - winner of the Daily
Telegraph Open Mic competition and runner up of So You Think You're Funny.
Graduating from Cambridge in 2001, Mark has written extensively for and starred
in Far Too Happy, Cambridge Footlights 2001 Tour show, which was nominated for
Perrier Best Newcomer award at the Edinburgh Fringe and toured successfully
nationwide. While at Cambridge Mark also wrote, directed and appeared in four
new plays, Compa$$ion, Screaming Heads, The Instant Comedy Formula and Tales of
the Predictable, the latter of which went on to Edinburgh.
This year, Far Too Happy was turned into a pilot for BBC Radio Four; in the past
few months Hat Trick have come on board to develop Mark's sitcom The Love Lives
Of Christians, commissioned by BBC 1. With Tim Key, Mark wrote and performed a
new show And Suddenly in Cambridge and London which has led to a follow up show,
A Few Idiots Who Spoil It For Everyone Else, and a six-week residency at the
Canal Café in October and November produced by Fat Bloke Productions.
His first novel, Bullet Points, is on track for publication in 2003.
