Rhod Gilbert
moved to London from Wales in 1995, and started stand up in early 2002, with his
first gig at the infamous Purple Turtle in London. Since then, he has performed
regularly in London and around the UK.
Rhod's ridiculous shaggy dog stories conjure up surreal
images of family life to hilarious effect…his family seem unable
to do anything conventionally - whether it's a game of football
or a trip to the doctors - expect the unexpected. Rhod's dry,
laconic delivery increases the absurdity and the end result is
an assault of verbal tickling that's hard to resist.
Live performances
Rhod is now seen at The Comedy Store, Jongleurs, Lee Hurst's
Backyard, The Monday Club, Banana Cabaret, Bound and Gagged,
Comedy Cafe and the Amused Moose, as well as a host of other
venues around the country.
