The high camp
comedy and vocal stylings of Sindy and Barbie make up The Kitsch Kittens, a
pastiche of the girls groups of the 50s & 60s. The classic songs of the era of
the beehive are performed along side a slice of life of Barbie, the would-be man
eater, and her outrageous hapless friend Sindy.
The Kitsch Kittens have performed in many diverse
venues from Selfridges, London a society wedding in Nice to a
sell-out run at the Kings Head theatre, with their fast paced
show which can run anything from 15 to 90 minutes. Their
costumes, dance routines, adlibs and on-stage relationship are
all integral to their winning performance.
Both the performers come from a musical theatre
background and their stunning vocal harmonies surprise many
audiences who expect
a night of straight stand-up. Often compared to Supergirly in
appeal, can The Kittens straddle the barriers of stand-up.
